Real-time requirements, in the context of autonomous vehicles, are one of the biggest challenges on the road to full autonomy. The need to process large amounts of data in a timely manner, and the need to make decisions in a complex and uncertain environment, are two of the biggest roadblocks. However, there are a number of promising approaches to meeting these requirements. As autonomous technology continues to develop, we can expect to see even more progress in this area.
